Early in the day I was concerned that the satnav phone had broken again as it was not showing a speed limit, then it finally dawned on me that there was no speed limit, I'd inadvertently been guided onto my first German Autobahn! My bike, not really, built for speed trundled on and all I could do was watch with envy, all those people testing their mettle on powerful roadsters and in sporty cars. Of course, annoyingly for them they could only ever go as fast as the slowest vehicle in the fast lane, it was very busy, so they were frequently forced to slam on the anchors.
I was confused after crossing the border into Leichtenstein and must have been travelling over the speed limit when I noticed that dreaded chink, chink, of two flashes. It seems I'd initially failed to capture sight of that huge white speed camera on the left so I, in turn, had now been captured by it! Thankfully it was in front of me rather than at my back. It was an interesting start.

Not to be deterred, I was excited, this was my first camp and what a place to be! My first introduction to the mountains, stunning! The weather was fine and warm. I arrived late of course, it seems my packing skills still need some work, but once I was there I managed to set up camp, check the bike, adjust the chain and use the remaining light in the cool evening air to reflect a little....
.....With my mind clearer I realised that I hadn't thought to drop into a supermarket for provisions and I'd also completely forgotten to get fuel for my camping stove! So I...er..."enjoyed" a cold army ration pack dinner of what the European armed forces refer to as Bean Chilli... Well it had beans in it and it was a bit chilly.....enough said!
My culinary experience did not, however, detract from my overall dread of travelling carrying all that gear, it was heavy and there was nothing I could do about it! It really will need to be rationalisesd at some point soon.
However! None of the above could detract from the view....I'd only ever experienced mountains like these in books and on TV! What a joy to behold. I hope that a future letter from the Leichenstein Constabulary will still not sully the memory.
By the way, the loss of maps yesterday, weirdly, was due to the time on the satnav phone being wrong. I corrected it and et voila! they all reappeared, it's now working perfectly. Happy days!

You need a map so we can see where you are!
